I haven't seen much of our beautiful country. The four corners of my travel have been Hawaii, Eureka, Denver and San Diego. Aside from a brief business trip to Denver, I haven't been much further east than Sparks NV. I've been doing some research to make the most of our trip. Our drive will take us through 76 cities that are big enough to rate a dot on our fold-out US map. What can you tell us about your favorite places along US 50? Give us the scoop!

How it all got started.
Hi Everyone! This is my first blog and my first blog entry. We are Dwayne and Susan Covey and we live in Sacramento, CA. In May of 2010, we will be taking our first vacation together in quite some time. Last year's vacations looked like this:
Dwayne = Comic Book Conventions
Susan = Workshops and Retreats
We did overlap in San Diego for Comic Con. That looked like this:
Dwayne and Madelyn (our daughter) = Comic Con
Susan = Public transportation and local sight seeing
One day last year, as we passed this sign in West Sacramento, I said out loud what I've thought for a long time, "Wouldn't it be cool to just drive there? All the way to Ocean City?" To my surprise, Dwayne said, "Yeah! Let's do it!" And so, a road trip was born.
We are not the first to make or record this trek, but we still wanted to be able to share it with our friends and family. We will post pictures and descriptions of our adventures, but particularly our meals. I like to cook. We both like to eat. We are big fans of Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, and we will try to hit as many Guy-approved eateries as our digestive systems and travel trajectory can handle.
